$5 Million for Broadband Expansion

Gov. Tony Evers announced that more than $5 million in funding from the federal CARES Act will be awarded for the expansion of high-speed, broadband internet. The Public Service Commission will award the funding to applicants that applied for but did not receive 2020 broadband expansion grants. Another requirement for the award is the ability of the applicant to connect residents by the end of this year. The lack of broadband is felt most acutely in rural areas of the state.
