WAUSAU – In early 2021, pharmacist Zoua Yang led an effort to vaccinate thousands of people for COVID-19 in more than 500 clinics in northern Wisconsin and across Upper Michigan.
At the time, Yang worked as a manager for the country’s largest pharmaceutical provider, CVS Health.
In the last year, Yang, 36, has moved in a completely different professional direction. The Wausau woman started Wausau Family Pharmacy, her own small pharmacy business in the west side neighborhood in which she grew up.
Instead of working at economies of scale, Wausau Family Pharmacy will focus on individual, in-depth medical plans.
The move fulfills a long-held dream for Yang, who has always had an entrepreneurial bent.
“Ever since I was in pharmacy school,” Yang said, “I’ve wanted to own my own business.”
