Car Crash Fatalities Up in Wisconsin Due to Alcohol Use

The Wisconsin Policy Forum reports that car crash fatalities are up in Wisconsin, despite fewer drivers on the road due to the pandemic. One of the biggest factors in these fatalities is drug and alcohol use. Compared to 2019, alcohol-involved crashes were up 50% while drug-involved crashes up 46%. The report notes there is some evidence of a national increase in impaired driving during the pandemic.
