CDC Says School Can Reopen with Mitigation Efforts, Based on Data from Wood County

Federal health officials are calling for schools to reopen as soon as possible, citing recent research indicating that in-person instruction can be carried out safely as long as mask-wearing and social distancing are maintained. The CDC also says that local communities must be willing to limit other activities, such as indoor dining, in order to keep community rates low. Part of the evidence is based on research in Wood County, Wisconsin, during 13 weeks in the fall of 2020.
