Clark County Launches Online Tool for Reporting Mask Mandate Violations

Clark County’s health department created an online tool that allows residents to report violations of the statewide mask mandate. The complaints are then sent to county officials, including the district attorney, who will decide on follow up to complaints. Critics of this online tool say it can be used to target people for personal reasons, since violations can be reported anonymously. Other critics say the tool is too heavy-handed in its approach. In a Facebook post, state Representative Bob Kulp (R-Stratford) wrote, “Really?! In Clark County?” and encouraged residents to call their Clark County board members.

Wayne Hendrickson, Clark County Board chair, told Wisconsin Public Radio that, absent extraordinary circumstances, he didn’t expect individuals to be fined for not wearing a mask.
