COVID-19 Testing Sites At Risk as Federal Funding Ends

Wisconsin may not be able to keep running its COVID-19 testing sites into 2021 without more federal funding. The CARES Act funding is set to expire December 30, leaving Congress little time to negotiate a new coronavirus relief package. Governor Evers said the state would need $466 million to continue testing, contact tracing, vaccine infrastructure, and other COVID-19 measures through the first quarter of 2021. The state legislature has not passed a coronavirus response bill since April.
