Epic Systems is telling its customers it will no longer be integrating its electronic medical records for Google Cloud. Instead, the company would work with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. The move comes as Google is facing criticism for its handling of “Project Nightingale,” a project with Ascension health care system. The Wall Street Journal reported that Google collected patient data in 21 states, including Wisconsin, sometimes without the consent of patients or physicians.
