Evers Highlights Rural Broadband in State Address

Gov. Tony Evers during his annual State of the State address Tuesday proposed $200 million in funding for broadband infrastructure. According to figures provided by the administration, about 430,000 people — 25% of the state’s rural population — lack access to high-speed internet. Evers also said Wisconsin’s vaccine rollout “an embarrassment compared to other states.” Evers’s speech also called for an overall of the state’s unemployment program.
