Evers Signs Law on Opioid Settlement

Governor Evers signed into law a GOP bill that allocates funds from a potential opioid settlement with opioid manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. Under the new law, 70 percent of the funds would go to counties and local governments and 30 percent would go to the state Department of Health Services. Wisconsin Counties Association president Mark O’Connell said funds from the lawsuit may arrive in Wisconsin later this year.
