Flu More Concerning Than Coronavirus, Says La Crosse Health Experts

The flu impacts the U.S. more than the coronavirus. But hospitals prepare for treatment protocol in case an outbreak happens here. Dr. John Ohoro, an infectious disease consultant with Mayo Clinic Health System, said the mortality rate of SARS was around 15 percent and 35 percent for MERS, while the mortality rate for coronavirus is 3 percent. “It seems to be far less problematic than either of those to put that into perspective,” said Ohoro.
