The Department of Health Services has created a school-based COVID-19 testing program for the next school year, using money from the federal stimulus bill passed in March to connect schools with labs to provide free coronavirus testing support. The testing will be offered free of charge to schools in the upcoming school year. The program will offer on-site COVID-19 testing for teachers, staff, students, and their families. Participating schools will be able to choose their testing strategy. Schools will have access to rapid, point-of-care antigen tests and more accurate laboratory-based tests.
