Governor Tony Evers and Secretary-designee Andrea Palm have issued two emergency orders suspending some administrative rules for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as the state deals with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emergency Order #20 allows health care provider licenses that would have expired during the public health emergency to remain valid until 30 days after the emergency is over. It also gives providers who are licensed in other states but assisting here additional time to apply for a Wisconsin license, and gives facilities where those providers are working additional time to notify the state.
Emergency Order #21 adjusts training and license renewal deadlines as well as paramedic-level ambulance staffing levels for EMS. This order also affects rules on nursing’s aide training hours, resident care staff and substance abuse disorder staff.
