Mental Health Services Slow to Rebound

Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) beneficiaries have skipped healthcare visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to new data released by CMS. Although people are returning to clinics for some treatments, mental health services are the slowest rebound to pre-pandemic levels. This decrease in mental health services occurs at a time when preliminary evidence shows mental health conditions have worsened nationwide.
