New Bike Patrol on the Trails

The Lakeland Area Mountain Biking Organization (LAMBO) in Minocqua is now the first bike patrol created in the state of Wisconsin. LAMBO formed the patrol this spring, operating similarly to ski patrol for alpine skiers in the winter. The bike patrol rides the trails and watches for injured cyclists. In the event of a bike crash, the patrol hopes to provide the initial medical services to people, like CPR, and work to ensure that EMS can make its way there. To become a patroller, extensive training was required and LAMBO members went through first aid training.
