NW Wisconsin’s COVID-19 Surge Stressing Hospitals and Staff

Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients in Northwest Wisconsin are surging, stretching hospitals to their limits. Mayo Clinic Health System is now working on contingency plans to put beds in waiting rooms, hallways, and a heated parking garage. Since the start of November, Wisconsin has set records for the number of people testing positive for COVID-19. Wisconsin Hospital Association President Eric Borgerding called the pace at which the coronavirus has spread through Wisconsin “unbelievable.”
