Pandemic Caused Telehealth to Leap Forward a Decade

Telehealth services became used more than ever in 2020 partly due to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services changes that allowed providers improved reimbursement for telehealth services during the public health emergency, along with a decrease in stigma around mental health issues, says in new story in Fierce Healthcare. Another of the biggest shifts in telehealth was the pullback of the Ryan Haight Act, which allowed mental health providers to prescribe medication virtually during an initial visit.
