The state began decommissioning the COVID-19 surge facility in West Allis. DHS cited declining hospitalizations and the vaccination rollout as reasons for decommissioning the field hospital. Sanitation of the facility has already begun, and State Fair Park is expected to be back to its original state before the end of April. A total of 170 patients received treatment at the facility.
