The Village of South Wayne and Wayne Township to Lose Their EMS Services

The Village of South Wayne and Wayne Township in Lafayette County are facing the end of their EMS Services due to a staffing shortage. For the past three years, only two people in have been on-call as EMS responders. The state of Wisconsin is planning to suspend EMS services on July 31 due to the lack of personnel. “We’ve been telling our boards for three years, we desperately needed help. You can’t expect an EMS agency to survive with two people. It’s too much work,” Eric Berget, South Wayne’s Fire Chief, told WKOW.
