WI Health Care Organizations Support “Safer at Home” Order for COVID-19

A coalition of Wisconsin health care organizations announce their support for Gov. Tony Evers’ “Safer at Home” order. The coalition asks the public to stay home “to protect both the public and essential health care workers who are necessary to take care of the critically ill.”

The coalition includes: the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association, Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, Wisconsin Medical Society, LeadingAge Wisconsin, Wisconsin Health Care Association, Wisconsin Center for Assisted Living, and Wisconsin Nurses Association.

The coalition believes that in order to keep Wisconsin’s health care system from being overwhelmed, it’s critical the public “take all steps available to reduce the rate of spread of COVID-19 cases.”

Community spread of the coronavirus necessitates “more dramatic action,” says the coalition’s press release.
