Wisconsin Gets a B in Social Distancing

Unacast, a location data and analytics form, has crunched the data from mobile phones to create a “Social Distancing Scoreboard.” Wisconsin got a “B” rating for decreasing average distance traveled by nearly 40%.

Each county is Wisconsin received it’s own rating. More than two dozen counties received an “A” including Sawyer, Menominee, Buffalo, Milwaukee and Green counties. Only Juneau and Dunn counties received an “F” rating.

According to Unacast, average distance traveled was a good measure for social distancing. “The metric correlates well with the number of confirmed cases: the more cases are confirmed, the greater decrease in the averaged distance traveled on the county level,” write Unacast CEO Thomas Walle in a a blog post.
