The governor’s office and the Department of Health Services (DHS) unveiled the “You Stop the Spread” campaign, a multimedia effort to encourage Wisconsinites to wear face coverings, practice physical distancing, and wash their hands to protect themselves and others from COVID-19. The campaign focuses on the different motivations people have to follow public health guidance, such as protecting a loved one or supporting essential workers. The campaign asks residents to post selfies with masks on to their social media accounts with the hashtag #YouStopThe Spread. DHS will send informational toolkits to local and tribal health offices so they can tailor messaging that will resonate with their local communities.
